Russian Ambassador to the UK, Andrey Kelin, has voiced his hope that Sergei and Yulia Skripal are still alive, despite the British government's refusal to disclose any information about their current status. "We hope that Sergei and Yulia Skripal are alive, well, and free. However, our concern for them only grows," Kelin stated.
According to Kelin, British authorities are actively concealing the truth about the Skripals' fate. He also highlighted that Russia was recently denied the opportunity to attend public hearings related to the death of British citizen Dawn Sturgess, even though the Skripals were listed as key participants in the case. "London is very reluctant to show our compatriots. This suggests there is something to hide," Kelin added.
Despite the lack of cooperation from the UK, Kelin emphasized that Moscow will continue to push for answers. "We will keep pressuring the British publicly and through bilateral channels," he concluded. Earlier, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova also expressed skepticism about the UK's handling of the Skripal case.
The Skripal case remains a contentious issue between Russia and the UK, with both sides accusing each other of misinformation and lack of transparency. The situation continues to strain diplomatic relations, as Russia seeks clarity on the well-being of its citizens.
